Energy Certification

The energy certificate is the report that inform us of the energy consumption and CO2 emissions of a building or installation. This is signed by a specialized technician who has been prepared in regulatory programs by the Ministry.

In the case of buildings, RD 235/2013 requires all the properties that are in sale or rented to make an energy certificate before being put up for sale / rent. It’s also mandatory for those buildings or parts of buildings, in which a public authority occupies a total area of more than 250 m2 and is usually frequented by the public.

In addition, it is increasingly common to request public aid to improve energy efficiency of a building, which must be upgraded to a letter rating in the energy certificate.
